The Big Red Book of Ancient Spells was a book that had spells that apparently could change physical looks and size of objects and living things.
In The Real Ghostbusters episode "Short Stuff the Ghostbusters used it to try to return themselves to their normal sizes after they were shrunk by Nurgot. Several attempts resulted in turning Peter Venkman into a rat, as well as making Slimer and the Firehouse change colors. Another spell returned everything to normal and briefly caused Slimer to become very large. The momentarily enlarged Slimer then slammed against Nurgot, enabling the Ghostbusters to easily trap him.
Trivia
- Even though Egon Spengler called it "Big Red Book" it was colored green when shown.
- This marks one of the few times they used magic instead of science to defeat an entity.
