Not to be mistaken for Bug-Eye Ghost from the Kenner toyline

Bug-Eye is a Watcher entity in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. It was first available with the third DLC on August 1, 2023. Bug-Eye unlocks at Player level 80.

Entry Bio[]

Bug-Eye is a Watcher variant that wants all eyes on itself. Slippery as all get out, Bug-Eye is the kind of ghost that gets face-to-face with its victims. Count its victims quite unlucky that Bug-Eye is nearsighted. The thought of even a small bit of debris in my eye would send me reeling, but Bug-Eye has no issue using that big ball upon its cranium to torment the living.

Classification[]

Ghost Type[]

The Bug-Eye is a type of Watcher. Who watches the Watcher? Our studies have unequivocally concluded that this ghost type is a particularly grotesque and elusive little creature. It’s safe to assume that before you ever notice a Watcher, it's certainly already noticed you, courtesy of its giant external eye, attached via a disgusting semi-corporeal tendon. Watchers are known for sending its occult oculus hurtling toward intended scare targets and then either recoiling it back to its socket OR pulling its torso to the eye itself, phasing through anything that stands between them. So yes, quite hideous all around.

Special Attributes[]

  • In Object Scare Attack
  • Scare Attack Lunge
  • Faster Room Haunt Speed
  • Increased Ectovision Distance
  • Tougher To Break Multiple Tethers
  • Increased Scare Cooldown
  • Speed Burst Costs More Energy

Ultimate Ability[]

  • Bug Out
    • A Watcher is a keen observer of every situation, especially ones in which they are at a disadvantage. Bug Out, Watcher's Ultimate Ability is a two-fold manifestation that all but ensures a quick escape. Bending ectoplasmic energy, Watches become essentially invisible for a time or until using an offensive ability. As if this wouldn't cause enough confusion, Watchers spawn a parting gift for any nearby Ghostbusters and Civilians: a hailstorm of EYE TORPEDOES. These weaponized optical organs glow white then flash red when they've found their target. They're precisely what you'd expect from an entity with an eye for chaos.

Unique Ability[]

  • Optical Flail
    • Capitalizing on what must be a quite sturdy optic nerve, Bug-Eye unsheathes its eye from the socket and swings it around its head like a medieval weapon. Victims within range are knocked back and covered in slime. Now that's what I call "eye contact".
