The Camcorder (a PK-750) was used by Ray Stantz during the New York City Public Library scene and later also appeared in the "We're ready to believe you" ad being held by Peter Venkman.

History

Ray Stantz retrieved the camcorder from Paranormal Studies Laboratory Room 205 A when Peter Venkman was in the midst of an ESP experiment. Ray asked Peter if those UV lenses came in for the video camera and added he needed the blank tape that Peter erased the day before. Ray recorded as he, Peter, and Egon Spengler searched the stacks. He got several things like the interview with Alice, Symmetrical Stacking, Ectoplasm on the card catalog, and the Library ghost. Egon briefly held the camcorder while Ray took photos of the ghost with the Nikon SLR FE2 Camera. After they learned they got fired, the Camcorder was taken away by one of the Removal Men. For the Ghostbusters' first commercial, Peter held the camcorder.

While collecting biometric data from Peter Venkman and Winston Zeddemore of Dimension 68-R on the second floor of the Firehouse, Egon Spengler set up the camcorder on its stand and recorded the session.

Recording Module

Unlike today's Camcorders, older camcorders had a second device for recording the actual footage called a Recording Module. It appears under the right arm of both Ray and Peter in the scenes with the Camcorder.

External Camera Light

The External Camera Light can be seen in Rays left pocket in the Library scenes. It was not shown in use.
