Clayton Crain is an artist based in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.A. who has contributed to IDW Comics.
In the summer of 1989, Clayton Crain bought a copy of "The Amazing Spider-Man" #31 and realized he could make a career out of being a comic book artist.
Clayton Crain dropped out of art school in 1994 after attending for five months. He lived in an old printshop and worked on his self-published comic "342" and began professionally illustrating comic books in 1998. Crain's first job was to pencil Acclaim Comics' "ShadowMan." In 1999, he started working with Todd McFarlane Production and worked on titles like "Curse of Spawn" and "Kiss: Psycho Circus." In 2003, Crain began digitally painting for Marvel Comics. He worked on titles, such as "Venom vs Carnage" (2004), "Ghost Rider: Road to Damnation" (2005), and "X-Force" Volume 3 (2008), and "Carnage U.S.A." (2011). Crain is currently a cover artist working for companies like Marvel, DC and Valiant.
