The Cockroach Acolytes are seemingly normal cockroaches that serve a supernatural master.
History[]
In June 2022, one of the cockroaches crawled on the hand of one of the men hired to put the Ghostbusters sign back up outside the Firehouse. It started him and crane swung into a nearby streetlight. Later that day, Gary Grooberson and Trevor Spengler found a dead charred one when they found the breaker box following a blackout in the Firehouse. Phoebe Spengler joked the electricity had a few bugs. Another cockroach observed Winston Zeddemore leaving with Trevor and Phoebe. A few days later, after a ghost attacked the Firehouse, all of the cockroach acolytes migrated underground to a pool of slime and fed more of the substance into it. Their unseen master welcomed the taste of fear, resentment and discord collected from the Spengler family. It demanded more.
The next morning, a cockroach perched on the Containment Unit and observed Callie and Gary talking about the children. Another cockroach was in a gutter as Phoebe walked past, on her way to Ray's Occult Books. A third cockroach trailed her as she headed down into the sewers. Phoebe found Madame Malveaux's slime pit. She emerged from the slime covered in her acolytes. Phoebe drew her Particle Thrower after Malveaux explained her past and her current plans but the Cockroach Acolytes had sabotaged the Proton Pack and made it inoperable. Later in the evening, a wave of Green Super Slime filled with Cockroach Acolytes flooded into the Firehouse from the street. Several of the cockroaches went into the basement and shut down the Containment Unit.
