Not to be confused with Compact Pack from IDW Comics
The Compact Thrower[1] is a miniaturized version of the Proton Pack and Particle Thrower that can be worn on an arm and is a single shot.[2]
History[]
Primary Canon History[]
Before Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire[]
The Ghostbusters Engineer Corps invented the Compact Thrower.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire[]
In the summer of 2024, Lucky Domingo tested a Compact Thrower in a shooting range at the Paranormal Research Center. She successfully blasted a ghost target on the first try then saw Trevor Spengler standing outside the range. Janine Melnitz and Lucky used Compact Throwers against Garraka in the Firehouse siege but they had no effect like the upgraded Proton Packs.
Behind The Scenes[]
Prop modeller Ellen Gould made the Compact Thrower props. The wiring was done by Douglas Hedges. The external cable was initially yellow then changed to black.[3]
Trivia[]
- The cuff is made from half a Thermos flask.[4]
- The body is a left hand version of the Particle Thrower.[5]
- The parts used to make the Compact Thrower were mostly from a $30 kit bought off of eBay.[6]
