Confused Spirits [1] are ghosts that are in denial about their current state of being.

History

When people experienced typically experience a death that is simultaneously unexpected and instantaneous, whether it was by accident, natural causes, or murder, their mind and souls never properly registered the transition. [2] They manifested as Confused Spirits. These entities still believed they were alive and often remembered their identity. However, they remained in a state of denial or otherwise oblivious about being a ghost. Most Confused Spirits were trapped in a repetitive pattern related to settling some form of unfinished business. A common example of the Confused Spirits are hitchhiker ghosts. Some have even engaged in small talk when given a ride. It was discovered that the Confused Spirits' behavior became unpredictable when they were told they were a ghost. Some peacefully dispersed. Some grew violent.

Classification

The Confused Spirits are Class 4 entities and typically corporeal. [3] The atomic cohesion is stable enough for this type of ghost to mimic the physical substance of a living human being and appear fully corporeal. [4]
