Dadi was the grandmother of Nadeem Razmaadi.
History[]
Primary Canon History[]
Before Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire[]
Dadi was a descendant of the Fire Masters, a roving band of ghost catchers in ancient times. In mid-July, 1904, she suited up in her Fire Master armor and infiltrated the Manhattan Adventurers Society headquarters in New York City. She resealed Garraka in the Orb of Garraka before he could get away after being accidentally freed during a gathering at time. Hook & Ladder Company 8, who were called to the Society headquarters, entered the frozen room and noticed her then slowly approached her. She suddenly opened her eyes and startled them as the orb closed up. The frozen Society members shattered. She became the guardian of the Orb of Garraka and was the last line of defense against Garraka should he escape. She lived in an apartment in Queens and started a family. A hidden room was built behind her pantry clad in brass to neutralize Garraka's ability to reach out to other ghosts. She attempted to tell her grandson Nadeem Razmaadi about their heritage but he brushed it off as crazy ghost stories. Dadi was never close with Nadeem.[1] After Dadi's death in 2024, Nadeem sold her old possessions for money to get by and survive. He discovered the secret room behind the pantry while he looked for Pop-Tarts.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire[]
In the summer, Nadeem went to Ray's Occult Books with a box filled with items from the secret room and tried to sell it to Ray Stantz. Ray asked if his grandmother was a believer. Nadeem recalled she believed a lot of demented superstitious stuff. Lucky Domingo took a liking to Dadi's art collection because of the "nipple stuff." Nadeem recalled the one she was looking at was his grandmother's favorite so he couldn't part with it then asked what her offer was. Trevor asked what his grandmother's deal was. Nadeem recalled they weren't close because she found him unambitious but he asked who was braver, his brother who went to engineering school or he for forging ahead with no education or future prospects. Trevor favored the latter. Lars steered the discussion to the orb. Nadeem remembered that was from the secret room where all the really good stuff was but he was not supposed to let anyone in. He showed them the secret room. Lucky complimented him on the "sex dungeon" and for his grandmother's taste. Nadeem offered to sell anything they were interested in. Lucky asked Lars Pinfield if the whole room was brass or copper. Lars recalled brass was believed to be a magical alloy that trapped demons and tales dated back to the time of Solomon. Trevor played a string instrument and noticed the room had no echos like a dead room. Lucky teased grandma could be as loud as she wanted. Nadeem asked them to stop making sex jokes about his recently deceased grandmother. Lars speculated the room kept the Orb of Garraka quiet.
Nadeem discovered he had the pyrokinetic abilities of the Fire Masters and Ray tried to coax him into claiming his destiny. Garraka engineered his escape from the orb and found the apartment the next day. He dragged his claw across a framed photo of Dadi and Nadeem. It also froze. Nadeem was instrumental in defeating Garraka. While he was interviewed by a Channel 8 reporter, Nadeem acknowledged Dadi.
