The Directional Finder[1] is a homing device designed to find ectoplasmic portals in any dimension.[2]
History
During the First Annual Ghostbusters Grand Prix, Janine Melnitz tried out the Directional Finder, without knowing what it was, while trying to find a way to bring the Ghostbusters back to the physical plane. After throwing it down in frustration, the Finder broadcasted a live conversation among the guys. However, the device soon lost the signal. Egon Spengler used a Direction Finder aboard the Spengler Speedster to search for a crack in the portal that would lead them back home.[3] The Finder succeeded and found the portal south, southeast.
