"WINSTON!"

- Disembodied Voice; Ghostbusters II

The Disembodied Voice is a ghost from Ghostbusters II. It said Winston's name when he tried to hear his own echo. It is unknown what happened to it as of then.

History

On New Years Eve 1989, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler, and Winston Zeddemore attempted to search for the River of Slime. Paranormal manifestations attempted to dissuade them from their search. Ray and Egon heard echoes of their voices. Winston chimed in but there was no echo. Instead, an ominous voice called out Winston by name.

Trivia

  • While it is unknown where and who the voice came from, some fans have concluded that it was the voice of Vigo.
  • The exchange between Winston and the Disembodied Voice was a recreation of a scene from the East Side Kids film Ghosts on the Loose (1943) where the echo voice who taunts the boys belonged to Emil, the leader of the fifth columnist Nazi spy ring "haunting" the house and was played by Bela Lugosi.
