The Doorman[1] is the doorman at 550 Central Park West.

On a Thursday night, the Doorman was perplexed when Louis Tully ran out of the Shandor Building screaming out a bear was in his apartment. Vinz Clortho followed in hot pursuit and knocked the doorman aside. He gave his statement to a police officer. Later that night, Peter Venkman showed up for his date with Dana Barrett and checked in with the Doorman. Not one to leave his post, the Doorman stuck around through the Ghostbusters' battle against Gozer. As they returned in triumph, the Doorman closed the driver's side door on Ecto-1 and saluted the guys.

Paragraph reads: "Because shooting time ran out in New York, Venkman's entrance into Dana's apartment house was not shot at the 55 Central Park West location -- but rather at a facsimile of its ground floor constructed at the Columbia Ranch in Burbank for the later sinkhole sequence. Rather than go to the expense of bringing the New York 'doorman' to Los Angeles, a different, but similar-looking actor was hired for the pickup scene."
