Earthy / Crunchy Health Foods is a health food supermarket chain in New York.
History[]
In December of 2022, Phoebe Spengler and Sammy Velez walked to the Earthy / Crunchy Health Foods at Wall Street and Pearl Street in the Financial District. Based on Ray Stantz's findings, the supermarket was the location of Captain Kidd's former home. Sammy joked he pegged Kidd as more of a Red Lobster guy. Phoebe suggested Long John Silver's. Sammy agreed but asked what they were looking for. Phoebe believed it would be a "know-it-when-we-see-it" scenario. Sammy asked, "Do you know why pirates are so good at saving money?" Phoebe answered, "Because they treasure it." Sammy admitted she was good at jokes. She saw a bag of chips on the floor and asked, "What's a pirate's favorite snack?" Sammy thought of "Goldfish" but Phoebe suggested Pirate's Booty. They saw bags and boxes of snacks near a sleeping pirate ghost in the Salty Snacks, Natural Chips, Popcorn and Candy aisle. They sneaked into the back room and looked around. She found an out of place chimney that looked original. Upon further inspection, she noticed a plaque dedicated to Captain Kidd. Sammy was amazed by how many Gummi Bears were stored in the room and never saw so many before. Phoebe keyed on "Father" in the inscription and was reminded of Sammy being related to Kidd. She took a photo of the plaque with her phone and speculated the family connection must have allowed Sammy to release Kidd from his saber. She wondered why now and what Kidd wanted. Sammy hoped it was buried treasure but some cans fell out of their box and made noise. The ghost phased into the room.
They ran out the emergency exit. Callie Spengler and Gary Grooberson were waiting for them aboard a ghost ship and trapped the ghost. Callie asked Phoebe if she was too busy grocery shopping to answer her mother's texts. Gary was embarrassed that was the line she thought of to say. Phoebe inquired why they were standing on the prow of a ghost ship. Callie admitted it was Gary's idea to get up close and increase their chances of busting the "Boo Crew." Gary swung down and proclaimed they looked amazing doing it. Phoebe asked where Trevor was. Ecto-1 came around the corner. Doctor Dan, The Science Man was left nauseous and was handed an Ectoplasm sample bag. Callie snatched the keys away from Trevor and warned him he was going to miss his license if he kept driving like that. Trevor asked her if she really wanted him to slow down in the middle of a ghost pirate siege. Callie quipped that was the gist of it. Dan tried to ask how Sammy was but Sammy only replied "Fine" and went into the car. Gary tried to downplay it as kids being kids. Dan hurled into the sample bag. They all returned to the Firehouse to come up with a plan.
Upon Captain Kidd's arrival, a huge P.K.E. spike was triggered and a corporeal manifestation of the Kidd Mansion appeared in the place of the store. During the course of the battle between the Ghostbusters and Captain Kidd, Lucky Domingo blasted a hole into the third floor of the building using a ghost pirate ship. After Captain Kidd was trapped, the mansion manifestation vanished. Trevor and Phoebe peered out of the gaping hole. Trevor thanked Ray for capturing Kidd with the Drone Trap. Phoebe hoped he did not miss everything. Ray mused he saw enough to know he was not getting on a boat anytime soon. The Zeddemore Foundation paid for the cost of repairing the store.[1]
