The Empire State Building a 102-story skyscraper, landmark, and American cultural icon located in New York City known for its unobstructed view of the city.

While racing against the clock, the Ghostbusters used one of the observation decks of the Empire State Building in an attempt to find the Party Animal Troll. They sighted him near a street performance and pursued. In the finale of the Plasmic Strainer incident, Slimer became an evil behemoth and kidnapped Janine Melnitz then flew to the roof of the Empire State Building. The Ghostbusters got four helicopters from Mayor Lenny, outfitted them with Particle Throwers, and returned Slimer to normal.

Years later, in August, a giant Werechicken marched down 34th Street and climbed the Empire State Building in order to lay its egg. [1] It reached the top and knocked off the spire of the building. Luckily, Egon's Weather Balloon froze the Werechicken solid atop the Empire State Building.

In 1997, Energy and Lightning Demons attempted to use the Empire State Building as a lightning rod to energize themselves. The Extreme Ghostbusters raced to an observation deck, fired at the lightning to infuse the entities with protons, and trapped them. In November, S.I.D.N.E.E. absorbed the Empire State Building as the Ghostbusters modified their two newest vehicles. The building returned after S.I.D.N.E.E. was trapped.
