Plot[]

Winston Zeddemore admitted he lived in New York City his whole life and had never visited the Statue of Liberty but now they were taking it for a walk. Ray Stantz wailed. Egon Spengler looked at the Giga Meter and reported they had full power. Ray activated the forward motion control on the modified NES Advantage Controller. Peter Venkman whooped. People saw them and cheered. Winston asked how deep the river was because he didn't want to go for a swim. Egon warned everyone to forget about swimming to safety because they could only survive for 12 minutes in 40 degree water. Peter quipped to Ray to put the Statue on her tiptoes. Ray charted their route: stay right of the channel, come ashore at Battery Park, go up the west side highway to 57, fly up 9 across the park at 65. Peter voiced his disagreement and shuffled next to Ray. He stated they should go up the FDR to 4-2, slide over and jump up Five. Ray countered they would be going the wrong way on Five. Peter pointed out they were walking a 150 foot tall national monument and needn't worry about a traffic ticket.

Trivia[]

  • On page 105 of the Ghostbusters II September 29, 1988 draft (and November 27, 1988 draft on page 119), Winston admits he can't swim and then Egon states they would survive approximately 15 minutes in that freezing cold water. Ray thinks they should keep to the middle of the channel, they're okay to 59th, and they should take First Avenue to 79th. Peter disagrees and tells him there will be bridge traffic so they should take 72nd straight up to Fifth.
  • Winston admits he lived in New York City his whole life and had never visited the Statue of Liberty until New Year's Eve 1989. [1]
