The Grid Device[3] is a device built by Egon Spengler to keep a fracture into the Containment Unit's universe open.
History[]
On one Christmas Eve, the Ghostbusters realized the accidentally captured the Ghosts of Christmas and altered history. Egon quickly jerryrigged a hairline fracture in the containment grid then his improvised Grid Device shot a laser into it to keep it open.[4] Due to the nature of its rush into production, the device quickly began to overload. Slimer did his best to keep it working - anything from blowing out fires to blasting the device with a fire extinguisher. Once Egon and the ghosts returned to the physical plane, the Grid Device exploded.
