When Rowan North returned to The Mercado Hotel, he started up his Barrier Compromising Master Machine again, which also re-energized the Ghost Portal Mirrors. From the Mercado, the device broke open the barrier between worlds of the living and the dead. A large mass of specters were unleashed. The Ley Lines going through Manhattan all opened and released even more spirits to pester the living. The Ghostbusters ended up setting off a reaction that reversed the polarity of the portal and sent the specters back to the World of the Dead.
One of the ghosts observed a large entity briefly reach through a portal into another dimension then lost two limbs when it suddenly closed. It manifested on the reflection on the glass of a store front across the street from the Kenneth P. Higgins Institute then spoke to the entity. It found the situation strange because it could sense the entity but not where it was. It realized the entity seemed to exist simultaneously in more than one dimension then stated that was cool. It was curious to see what was going to happen when the entity tried to pull itself together.
- The scene of the ghosts running rampant were filmed on or near Franklin Street in Boston's Financial District.
