Plot[]

A new Patience statue was on its pedestal in front of the New York Public Library.

A large crowd of citizens gathered outside and cheered the Ghostbusters on as they walked outside. Reporters from several news stations and firefighters from FDNY Ladder Company 7 were also present. Mayor Peck and a police escort pulled up. Peck blamed the Ghostbusters for the city-wide devastation and was ready to shut them down once and for all. Peter called him a clown and surmised he would never get it. A reporter asked Peck what he had to say to the Ghostbusters. The crowd pointed out he should be thanking them. Peck stuttered. Gary thought it sounded like they had Peck's undivided support. Peck played along. Winston thanked him and credited Phoebe and her family with saving the world. The crowd cheered. Winston told the reporter the world was experiencing unusual paranormal activity and the Ghostbusters were here to answer the call. The crowd cheered in agreement, drowning out Peck's retort.

Reporters took statements. Janine noted it was not her first evil god. Nadeem told another he was a Fire Master like his Dadi. Lars stepped outside drenched in ectoplasm and asked if they won. A girl took a selfie with Podcast and kissed him. A reporter asked Callie what busting ghosts together was called. Gary replied "a team" but she added "a family" and he said were the Spenglers, joking you didn't want to be a Grooberson. Slimer flew out of the Firehouse with Sewer Dragon in hot pursuit. As the team headed to Ecto-1, Phoebe referred to Gary as "dad" to his shock. He was overwhelmed with emotion. Callie tossed the keys to Trevor. She instructed him to go slowly and look both ways. The crowd formed a path and Ecto-1 departed the Firehouse then headed towards the N. Moore Street and Hudson Street intersection.

A truck driver transporting Stay Puft Marshmallows products parked in a gasoline station lane at a truck stop one evening. He walked over to a vending machine, fed it some coins, smacked the machine, and collected his drink selection. His truck's cab was suddenly filled up with many Mini-Pufts. They honked the horn and drove away. The driver yelled that was his truck and ran after it.

Trivia[]

  • The exteriors of the New York Public Library are a mix of second unit filming from New York and a set of the library exterior built at Winnersh Film Studios in London.
  • The Firehouse ground floor scenes were filmed at Shinfield Studios in Reading, United Kingdom.[1]
  • Costume designer Alexis Forte replicated the yellow fellow designer Ruth Myers used for the "8" on the firefighters helmets for the "7" of the Ladder 7 company that arrives at the end of the movie.[2]
  • Art Director Luke Whitelock had a cameo among the crowd gathered outside the Firehouse. He high-fived Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray as they walked out of the Firehouse.[3][4]
  • Kalisha Amaris Johnson booked the reporter #1 role in the span of five days in May 2023. While she was overseas, her agent contacted her to do a self tape for a movie. She had nothing with her so she improvised her a hotel laundry room using a remote as a microphone. After she arrived home from a 10 hour flight, she did a second self tape around 2 am. She later booked the role, signed a contract, and went in for a costume fitting.[5]
  • Janine alludes to Gozer.
  • Nadeem mentions Dadi.
  • At the end of the movie during the news conference, someone in the crowd shouts, "Dickless!" Peck was called that by Ray in the first movie.
  • To achieve the slimed effect on Lars Pinfield's parka, it was painted with silicone.[6]
  • For the filming of scene where Slimer flies out of the Firehouse, several takes were filmed with Kevin Mangold. In one version, Mangold filmed in a harness. In another, he filmed on roller blades.[7]
  • The "Ghostbusters" song plays at the end.
  • Kevin Mangold worked on the movie for a total of 10 days and went to the United Kingdom twice and New York once.[8]
  • The dedication is to the late Ivan Reitman.
  • On December 6, 2023 the credits tag was filmed at a BP Truck Stop at 1389 Hwy-29 S Newnan, Georgia 30263.[9]
  • The BP Truck Stop was dressed with the soda machine the truck driver goes to.[10]
  • Jason Reitman directed the end credits tag.[11]
  • Adam Murray's transition lens on his glasses was an early concern by the crew but Murray pointed out they wouldn't an issue during the night shoot.[12]
  • The crew kept increasing the distance Adam Murray had the run when his character is chasing after the truck.[13]
  • The filming of the credits tag was supposed to be a closed set but people at the McDonald's next door took photos and video with their phones then an Uber drove onto the set and almost hit the truck and Adam Murray.[14][15]
  • In the end credits, Claire Titelman is credited as "News Correspondent" but her scene did not make the final cut of the movie. It is one of the deleted scenes "News Report" that is included in the 4K/Blu-ray releases.

I then replicated the same one for the firefighters at the very end of the movie who come to the firehouse and so we have Ladder 7 come at the end because they're at Ladder 8 but I made sure to have the same yellow that matched and we had our agers, dyers paint in the same style so it mirrors the opening and sort of book ends the firefighters."

I was out of the country (a whole different time zone!) when I got an email from my agent asking me to do a self tape for a different unnamed feature film - which turned out to be GHOSTBUSTERS (called 'Firehouse' at the time). I had No equiptment, no tripod, no nothing Soooo I had to get creative & did my tape in the hotel laundry room using a remote as microphone prop I then did ANOTHERRr tape around 2AM after I got in from the 10 hour flight back home In the space of 5 days I had booked the role, signed my contract, did my fitting and was on set living my best actress life."

I'm chasing after this truck and an Uber full of people comes flying into the parking lot. They're dodging the truck. I like jump out of the way of this Uber as I'm running after this truck."
