On October 28, 2023, it was claimed the first trailer releases on November 10, 2023 with theatrical showings of "The Marvels".

On October 31, 2023, a short Halloween themed clip of the new logo appeared on Ghostbusters social media that teased "something strange is coming soon."

On November 6, 2023, a classic logo with ice shards approaching it with the line "there's a chill in the air" appeared on Ghostbusters social media. It was claimed the trailer is 2 minutes and 5 seconds and releases this week or early next week.

On November 7, 2023, a video was posted announcing the teaser trailer will release the next day on November 8.

On November 8, 2023, the teaser trailer was released at 11 am eastern.

On November 12, 2023, it was reported the trailer was seen before a theatrical showing of "The Marvels".

On November 15, 2023, Heiko von Drengenberg posted storyboards of scenes he worked that were in the trailer.

On January 10, 2024, at the end of Sony's "100 Years. 100 Trailers" live stream, the teaser trailer for Frozen Empire played. The livestream ended with a congratulatory message from Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan. They hinted they had a trailer they wanted to show and to stay tuned.

On January 11, 2024, it was reported the next trailer is 2 minutes long as stated by the British Board of Film Classification.

On January 12, 2024, Senior Special Effects Technician Doug McCarthy revealed Gil Kenan told him the next trailer releases at the end of January.
