Plot

A Groom and Bride are spending their honeymoon in room 1210 at the Sedgewick Hotel. The Groom is nonchalant about waiting until after getting married to have sex and rolls over to get to sleep. The bride looks over to his new Seiko travel clock. Suddenly, the glass clock face cracks at 9:45 pm. She wakes him up but she ends up getting blamed for the clock. When the groom goes to the bathroom, he screams for his bride and she comes to the bathroom then lets out a scream. The groom gets on the phone and attempts to describe the problem. Something Green glows through a mirror (Slimer) and the bride screams.

Trivia

  • When he shot this scene, Ivan Reitman thought it was one of the funniest sequences in the movie. It was like a skit out of Saturday Night Live, funny in itself. But when he cut it into the film, it didn't work and stopped the pacing of the movie cold. Reitman made a tough decision to delete this scene. [1]
  • In Ghostbusters Annual 2017, the "All That Glitters" story appears to be a nod to the Honeymooners deleted scene.

Ivan Reitman says: "When I shot the bride and groom scene, I thought it was one of the funniest sequences I'd done in the film. And when I looked at the rushes, I thought, 'Yeah, this is definitely going to be one of the funniest scenes in the movie.' But when I actually cut it into the film, it just didn't work. It was like a skit out of Saturday Night Live -- funny in itself, but it stopped the movie cold every time. Cutting it was one of the tougher decisions I had to make."
