The Green Super Slime[1] is a strain of Ectoplasm that feeds on chaotic feelings and is a variant of Psychomagnotheric Slime.[2]
History[]
After May 20, 1993, the medium Madame Malveaux heard the call of residue from Vigo's portrait that survived the battle with the Ghostbusters. She nurtured his power back in existence and reconnected with the spirit realm. For decades, she bathed in a pit of the Green Super Slime somewhere in the sewers.
In 2023, all of Madame Malveaux's Cockroach Acolytes migrated underground into the sewers and made their way to a pool of green ectoplasm. They released more of the substance into it. Malveaux welcomed the taste of fear, resentment and discord collected from the Spengler family. Malveaux demanded more. The next morning, Phoebe Spengler donned a pair of Ecto Goggles and gloves and took a sample of green Ectoplasm from inside the wall the Containment Unit was built into in the Firehouse basement. Later that day, Phoebe went to Ray's Occult Books and told Ray Stantz about a ghost that attacked the family in the Firehouse the night before and described it was "every animal ever thrown into a sewer rolled into a pile of snot." Ray asked if the slime was neon pink to her confusion. She replied it was green and glowing then presented a jar of it. Ray admitted he was afraid history would repeat itself. Phoebe inquired what he meant. Ray told her about the Psychomagnotheric Slime and Vigo. Ray revealed a jar of the last of the slime and recalled the city had been quiet for decades. Phoebe speculated it came back as a green super slime. Ray found it unlikely. Phoebe countered it was any more unlikely than an ambulatory, battle-ready Statue of Liberty. Ray conceded and decided to run tests on her sample. Phoebe suited up and went down into the sewers. She discovered Malveaux's chamber with a P.K.E. Meter. Phoebe heard a voice imploring her to come to her. Phoebe demanded the ghost to show themselves. Malveaux rose from the Ectoplasm pool and stated the city only needed chaos, not the Ghostbusters.
Ray believed the Ghostbusters could use Psychomagnotheric Slime against Malveaux. He introduced a Psychomagnotheric slime crystal into a jar of the Green Super Slime given to him by Phoebe. Phoebe used a P.K.E. Meter and confirmed there were no readings and the slime was completely neutralized. Trevor Spengler presumed they just had to shoot about ten thousand gallons of the pink slime into the sewers. Ray revealed his jar of crystals was all that was left. Phoebe had an idea on how to effectively weaponize the crystals. She informed everyone her theory was the particle streams would pass through the affixed crystal, altering the protons and give them the power to fight Malveaux and her slime. Trevor suggested a test before the big battle. Gary saw a cockroach and blasted it with success. Callie Spengler told him it was just a regular one. A wave of Green Super Slime filled with Cockroach Acolytes flooded into the Firehouse.
The new Particle Streams from the Ghostbusters' modified throwers worked and parted the slime wave in the Firehouse. Madame Malveaux chose Times Square to cause even more chaos and absorb more energy. She flooded the square with the Green Super Slime. Before the Ghostbusters could blast her, they were hit by a wave of slime. People started fighting over space on rooftops of vehicles. The anger and chaos only made Malveaux stronger. Phoebe realized the slime reacted to disruption and disarray and why Malveaux chose Times Square.
