Hasbro Ghostbusters Plasma Series Figures Toy Line is of action figures of a six inch scale. The four Ghostbusters all come with proton packs with neutrona wands as well as one more exclusive accessory. The six single figures come with a part of the "Build-A-Ghost Terror Dog". This line is being released to coincide with the theatrical release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife in 2020. Since the items announcement, the Ghostbusters: Afterlife film had been delayed and they released later than expected.
Development[]
On June 8, 2021, Hasbro went live with Plasma Series Classic Figures glow in the dark figure pre-orders of Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston at 2:30 pm PST on Hasbro Pulse.[1]
On November 13, 2021, Ernie Hudson commented when he was shown the first prototype for the Afterlife wave Winston figure, it looked like Eddie Murphy so the Hasbro team went back and corrected the figure's appearance.[2]
On May 25, 2022, a new Selfie series was announced.[3]
On July 13, 2022, a video about Hasbro's Selfie Series was released revealing some new details like their 3D printing partner Formlabs, examples of some custom figures, a fall release window, the process will be done through the Hasbro Pulse app in which customers use their phone to create a 3D scan of their face then have to approve likeness, hair choice, and digital render. The figure will cost $60 and will only be available in the US.[4]
On July 28, 2022, a Comic Con booth visit was posted that previewed the Selfie Series.[5]
On September 27, 2022, it was announced the Selfie Series launches on September 30. The price has gone up from $59.99 to $79.99 and the entire process should take between 45 to 60 days.[6]
On July 17, 2023, it was announced the Selfie Series was receiving an update to coincide with San Diego Comic-Con 2023. The updates to the figures include eyeglasses, sculpted beards, mustaches, and several new hairstyles. A Selfie Series figure purchased at Comic-Con comes with exclusive packaging and a branded figure stand.[7]
On November 25, 2023, Hasbro confirmed it ended the Selfie Series and are no longer taking new orders.[8]

Ivan Reitman[]
On June 8, 2022, Jenny Whitlock from Hasbro revealed they made two more Ivan Reitman Plasma Series figures. One will go to Ghost Corps and one will auctioned for charity for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. The figure has a megaphone based on the one he used during Ghostbusters. Jason found it in the family basement and sent pics to Hasbro to recreate.[12][13][14]
On December 1, 2022, it was announced one of the Ivan Reitman Plasma Series figures will be auctioned off on December 12th, from 9am PST to 9pm PST, with fans being able to participate in the virtual event, with all proceeds benefiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles.[15]
On December 13, 2022, the figure was auctioned off for $27,000.[16]
