The Hook & Ladder Company 8 (credited as Fire Captain (1904) and Firefighters (1904)) were a New York Fire Department company located at 14 North Moore Street at its intersection with Varick Street.

Before Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire[]
In mid-July, 1904, Hook & Ladder Company 8 was dispatched to deal with an emergency at the Manhattan Adventurers Society. They ran past the staff and guests and headed up the stairs. A strange mist seeped back between the doors of a ballroom. The fire captain placed his hand on the door and observed it was freezing. His hand became stuck to the surface but the others freed them then bashed the doors open with their axes. They were shocked to find the room and all the people inside were completely frozen. Some of them soon noticed an armored woman and slowly approached her. She suddenly opened her eyes and startled them as the Orb of Garraka closed up. The frozen men shattered to pieces in front of the firefighters.

- Hook & Ladder Company 8 is still a full operational fire station in real life and they often take part in Ghostbusters events as well as welcome visitors and fans to the station.
- Costume designer Alexis Forte replicated the yellow that fellow designer Ruth Myers used for the "8" on the firefighters helmets for the "7" of FDNY Ladder Company 7 that arrives at the end of the movie.[1]

I then replicated the same one for the firefighters at the very end of the movie who come to the firehouse and so we have Ladder 7 come at the end because they're at Ladder 8 but I made sure to have the same yellow that matched and we had our agers, dyers paint in the same style so it mirrors the opening and sort of book ends the firefighers."
