Kidd's Ghost Pirate Army is a fleet of ghost ships led by Captain Kidd.

History[]

In December of 2022, Captain Kidd led many ghost pirate ships to Manhattan, near Liberty Island. Kidd issued a warning to all to stand aside or dance the hempen jig. A pirate ghost had a tea party with a little girl named Bella in her bedroom. Bella's mother came to check up on her and saw the ghost. Bella asked if he could stay for dinner. Another ghost rowed next to a man in a gym. A third wore a Shakespeare-inspired outfit in a costume shop. An employee hid behind the register and made a phone call. Two ghosts saw a showing of "Pirates of Penzance" at a theater. The Ghostbusters were flooded with calls about the ghosts all day.

Phoebe Spengler and Sammy Velez walked to the Earthy / Crunchy Health Foods at Wall Street and Pearl Street in the Financial District. Based on Ray Stantz's findings, the supermarket was the location of Captain Kidd's former home. After some walking around, she saw a bag of chips on the floor and asked, "What's a pirate's favorite snack?" Sammy thought of "Goldfish" but Phoebe suggested Pirate's Booty. They saw bags and boxes of snacks near a sleeping pirate ghost in the Salty Snacks, Natural Chips, Popcorn and Candy aisle. They sneaked into the back room and looked around. She found an out of place chimney that looked original. Upon further inspection, she noticed a plaque dedicated to Captain Kidd. Phoebe keyed on "Father" in the inscription and was reminded of Sammy being related to Kidd. She took a photo of the plaque with her phone and speculated the family connection must have allowed Sammy to release Kidd from his saber. She wondered why now and what Kidd wanted. Sammy hoped it was buried treasure but some cans fell out of their box and made noise. The ghost phased into the room. They ran out the emergency exit. Callie Spengler and Gary Grooberson were waiting for them aboard a ghost ship and trapped the ghost.

Ecto-1 was pursued by a ghost pirate ship while on route to the Financial District. Phoebe, from the gunner seat, and Trevor from a window fired at the ship. Callie told Gary he should probably hurry. A ghost pirate called them bilge rats and ordered them to stop their vessel or they would be reduced to cinders. Phoebe retreated back inside. Doctor Dan was all for slowing down but believed they should keep going. Gary got an idea and slammed the brakes. The ship's cannon fire missed. Gary asked Dan why pirates can't drive cars. Dr. Dan asked if it was the time for jokes. Gary replied it was because the gear shift always got stuck on Arrrgh! He reversed past the ship. Dan continued to barf. The Ghostbusters entered the corporeal manifestation of Kidd Mansion and fought off pirate ghosts with their equipment, transformed into Proton Swords, until they found Captain Kidd and Sammy Velez. Lucky Domingo commandeered a ghost pirate ship and waited. Once she got the signal from Phoebe, Lucky fired the ship's cannons at the third floor. The threat of the ghost pirates ended after Kidd was trapped.
