Laura Summer, is a voice actress that portrayed Janine Melnitz the first two seasons of The Real Ghostbusters. She is also known for providing her voice to Hello Kitty's Mimi and Digimon's Patamon.

Career[]
Laura Summer has an extensive background in both theatre, voice acting and television. Her earliest role was on The Facts of Life playing Emily, an Eastland School student, in the 1983 two part episode Graduation. She would appear one more time, reprising her character, in the same season's episode, Help from Home. From there, she continued to do parts in such shows as Night Court, She's Out of Control, and Grace Under Fire. She also had a small role in the 2001 movie, Shallow Hal.
Her first foray into voice work was playing Ghostbusters' secretary Janine Melnitz in the 1986 animated series, The Real Ghostbusters. It was her very first audition for a cartoon series. She would continue for two seasons, until an ABC mandated retooling of the show saw her let go in favor of the softer-voiced Kath Soucie. They also let go Lorenzo Music at the same time. From there, she continued her voice acting work, though mainly outside of animation. Within the animation industry, she was the voice for Mimi in Hello Kitty, Patamon in Digimon: Digital Monsters, Princess Hightower in Flint: The Time Detective, recurring on The Garfield Show from 2008 to 2013. Outside animation, she has done voices for Disney, including High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls and several other television shows. Recently, she has dubbed for the English release of Digimon Adventure Tri. animated film series, reprising her role as Patamon.

- Laura Summer was asked to audition for the role of Janine on Extreme Ghostbusters and was told she got it but the role ultimately went to Pat Musick instead.[21]
- On page four of Ghostbusters Volume 2 Issue #9, Laura makes a non-canon cameo as one of the cab passengers.
- On page 12 panel 4 of Ghostbusters: Get Real Issue #3, right of Peter is a list of names including Summer.
