Marduk is the Babylonian god of the city. He once visited New York in an effort to avoid his enemy Tiamat. When the Ghostbusters knew that Marduk was on the city, they already knew that Tiamat will follow him, so they had to find him first. They brought their PKE meter with him knowing that he could assume the form of any civilian. After a long chase they easily found him when he unwittingly assumed the form of Santa Claus when it wasn't Christmas. Marduk had finally agreed to let the Ghostbusters help him to capture his enemy. When Tiamat was finally destroyed, The ghostbusters believed that Marduk was also destroyed because the two beings couldn't exist without one another. This was disproven in the ending when a horse Winston rode on turned into a man and walked away whistling.

Being the god of the city, he can assume the form of any civilian, be it a human or an animal.
