Mary Cuttie[2] is the manager of the Hotel Boudreaux and is a Mambo, Voodoo priestess.[3]

History

Mary Cuttie is the current manager of the Hotel Boudreaux in Muddy Flat, Louisiana. She is also a Mambo and practices the Vodou religion.[4][5] Over the years, Mary dealt with a local entity named Malachi by dousing the area with ritual powder. However, each year, Malachi became more and more powerful. Soon, he could resist Mary's attacks. In the mid-1980s, she encountered the vacationing Ghostbusters during Mardi Gras and put them up at the hotel. Mary informed them of Malachi and the nature of his powers. She witnessed the Ghostbusters disperse Malachi once and for all.

Powers/Skills

Mary possesses ritual Gris-Gris powder that can temporarily disperse ghosts.[6] She likely has a modest knowledge of Voodoo.

Trivia

  • Mary managed to resist Peter Venkman's natural charm and noted he was "full of hot air."
  • On page one of Ghostbusters Issue #10, Mary makes a non-canon cameo as one of the people in the Mardi Gras parade.
