The Mass Containment Field [1] is a device rigged up in about a day's time to trap The Petersons.
History[]
Without any equipment designed for capture, the Ghostbusters were on Stantz Dairy Farm with 10 generations worth of zombies. Ray, Egon, and Winston spent the better part of a day from sunrise to evening converting Samantha Stantz' automated machines in her dairy into a Mass Containment Field. However, Egon warned using the device might cause an explosion of monumental proportions.
When the Peterson family arrived, Ray threw the switch and all of the Petersons were captured within a Containment Field. The field was only temporary and the power soon cut. Luckily, Samantha already convinced the Peterson family to disperse.

- On page 17 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters Volume 2 Issue #1, in panel 2, the Mass Containment Field makes a non-canon cameo left of Donatello.
