Men In Black/Ghostbusters: Ecto-terrestrial Invasion is a miniatures board game developed by IDW Games, based on the classic Ghostbusters and Men In Black franchises. Game illustrations were done by Derek Laufman, and game pieces sculpted by Ninja Division.

Base Game

Development

On October 30, 2018, IDW issued an announcement a multi-year agreement between IDW Games and Sony Pictures Consumer Products to develop a series of tabletop games for both Men in Black and Ghostbusters franchises including, for the first time, a crossover miniatures board game featuring both Men In Black and Ghostbusters in conjunction with new Men In Black movie set for June 2019 and Ghostbusters celebrating its 35th Anniversary in June 2019. "Men In Black/Ghostbusters: Ecto-terrestrial Invasion" will be a miniatures loaded board game featuring Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, and Winston Zeddemore, Agent J, Agent K, Agent L and Zed. Artwork is by Derek Laufman. Game design is by Panda Cult Games. The game is a a blend of fast action dice-chucking and take-that card play. The sculpted miniatures will be done by Ninja Division. It will release in late-Fall 2019. Additional stand-alone games for each franchise are also currently in development and also slated for release in 2019.[1]

On March 12, 2019, Hector Moran previewed the character pieces for the Ghostbusters.[2]

On March 16, 2019, Hector Moran previewed the character pieces for the Men in Black.[3]

On March 18, 2019, Hector Moran posted a one sheet of the characters.[4]

On March 26, 2019, Hector Moran reveals he was approached to work on the game at the end of 2018. He also revealed three of the villains.[5]

On August 1, 2019, the game was previewed at GenCon.[6]

On January 8, 2020, IDW Games hinted to stay tuned for news in April.[7]

On January 13, 2020, a photo of the miniature figures for the Ghostbusters was posted.[8]
