Not to be confused with Possessed Object from Ghostbusters: The Video Game (Stylized Versions)

Possessed Objects are ghosts that take possession of inanimate objects for the purpose of having a physical presence. [1]

History

Insight Editions

After ghosts have inhabited objects and took possession of it, they transmogrified them as well. Furniture, appliances, and even artwork have been anthropomorphized with organic elements, including eyes, a tongue, hands. Objects fastened down into one place stay in place once possessed like toilets while those that aren't have grown legs and moved about. Destruction of the object was the proven way to remove the ghost but possessed appliances were exorcised by severing their connection to its power supply.

IDW Comics

Louis Tully bought a refurbished microwave but it was possessed. After it started talking and ectoplasm was discharged from every orifice, he called the Ghostbusters. Ray Stantz advised him to pull out the plug. It worked and Ray quickly hung up. The day after the Loftur Þorsteinsson incident was resolved, the Ghostbusters were called to the Bronx. A Mr. Shevlin claimed a toilet ate his dog. [2]
