Shub

Shubs were a race of beings that were involved in the Third Reconciliation of the Meketrex Supplicants. Gozer ended their existence alongside the Zulls by taking the form of a giant Sloar. It was said that the Shubs and Zulls "knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of a Sloar."^[1] Not much else is known about this race, and this information was completely coming from Vinz Clortho while he possessed Louis Tully in 1984.

Trivia[]

Shub could be a reference to Shub-Niggurath, also known as "The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young." The "Shubs" in question might be one of these young or possibly a follower of Shub-Niggurath. Lovecraftian themes have popped up in various Ghostbusters media in the past, such as the Ghostbusters facing Cathulhu itself in the The Real Ghostbusters.
On page 12 of Ghostbusters Issue #8, Shubs are referenced on one of the cans in the garage bay.
