The Real Ghostbusters Slumber Mate was released in 1989. It was sold in a series of "slumber" related items in Sears 1989 Christmas Catalog.[1] In America, it was released by ERO Industries, while it was released by Imperial in Canada.

- On page 17 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters Volume 2 Issue #4, in panel 2, the The Real Ghostbusters Slumber Mate makes a non-canon cameo on the table.
- On page 9 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters Volume 2 Issue #5, appearing again, on the console behind Peter is the duffel bag based on The Real Ghostbusters Slumber Mate.
