Tom Bancroft is animation veteran that current writes and illustrates out of Nashville, Tennessee.


Tom Bancroft is a former Disney supervising animator. He worked at Walt Disney Feature animation for 11 years. He worked on 10 animated feature films, 5 animated shorts, and numerous special projects and commercials including, "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "Aladdin," "Mulan," "Lilo and Stitch," and "Brother Bear." Bancroft was a character designer and director at Big Idea Productions where he worked on "VeggieTales" for a couple years. For seven years, Bancroft co-owned an illustration/animation development studio called Funnypages Productions (FPP) just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. At FPP, Bancroft provided direction, illustration, character design and artistic animation development for clients like Disney, DC Comics, Big Idea Productions, Warner Brothers, CBN, Scholastic, NavPress, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan. Bancroft wrote and drew four issues of his creator-owned series, "Opposite Forces,"a character design instructional book "Creating Characters With Personality" through Watson-Guptill publishing in 2006, and "Character Mentor" from Focal Press publishers in 2012. In total, he has also illustrated over 50 children's books. Bancroft has received several accolades, such as being nominated for Annie and Rueben Awards, spoken at the Kennedy Center and was awarded an entry into the Chicago Children’s Film Festival. Currently, Bancroft does his own freelancing and other contract work for television, film, comic books, children's books, and video games. [1]
