The Unidentified Possessor is a cryptic entity that targeted Egon Spengler in late 1984 about a vague, impending doom.

History[]

In late 1984, weeks after Gozer's defeat, Rebecca Morales was about to conclude her first interview with Egon Spengler when she was suddenly taken over by a mysterious entity and levitated to the ceiling of the Firehouse second floor. The entity taunted Egon that his luck would not last forever. Egon held out a Trap and threatened it to let Rebecca go or else. The entity was amused by the idle threat and stated it could destroy him but it was not his time yet. It declared his doom was coming and he could not prevent it. It used telekinesis to knock the Trap away. The entity wanted its warning to consume him and punish him. Everything went flying and pink Ectoplasm was emitted in all directions as it left Rebecca's body. Egon assured her it was a minor ghost encounter. Rebecca was angered about being slimed and took offense to it being "minor." Peter Venkman arrived but she shoved him away and stormed out of the Firehouse. Peter teased Egon they looked like a Times Square theater. Egon informed him she was briefly possessed. Peter asked what the ghost wanted. Egon admitted he did not know but promised to find out.

Powers[]

The possessor exhibited possession, flight, and telekinesis. It also seemed to have future knowledge about Egon's life by unknown means.

Trivia[]

  • On page 18 of Ghostbusters Year One Issue #4, the swirl of pink P.K.E. is reminiscent to when the ghosts escaped the Containment Unit in Chapter 21.
  • When asked if the entity is an existing character or setting up another prequel, Erik Burnham said, "Just a foreboding warning for Egon."[1]
